So after lunch today I try to log back on and what do I find to my surprise on this “Medium” populated server, it’s FULL! Granted, the wait was only 10 minutes but those where 10 minutes of Xiedra’s play time in Death Knight country, that’s right folks, DK Country in WoW. The queue is actually a good sign, it means many people are reactivating or buying new accounts and playing in mass. Read the rest of this entry »

After having tried out the two key novelties of the game, Northrend and Death Knights, I think it’s safe to say that the game is still a huge addicting grind. Supposedly end game this time around will be more casual friendly but we’ll have to wait and see, until then the journey to level 80 is enjoyable except for one thing:
Death Knight’s start at level 55 with no professions except for First Aid (270/300)!!
Seriously Blizzard, what gives? I suppose the reasoning is that it would be too easy for players to create profession factories on every server they already have a level 55 character on. Fair enough, but it still sucks and it leaves me to believe that most Death Knights will probably not bother leveling a profession until they reach level 80. That is if they even get to 80 which I doubt and “hope” most don’t or we’re going to have some serious class inflation issues. Read the rest of this entry »

Upon arriving back from work sometime around 2AM on the 14th I looked at my computer monitor just like a drug crazed junkie would salivate at the thought at getting their next fix. I feel I must admit that I’m hooked back to World of Warcraft with a burning desire only satiated by it’s icy cool Northrend content. Well instead of logging back onto my warrior I felt I had to try out the new class that I’ve never played before. Like most veterans, I’ve played every class at least up 50, which I believe is an essential part of knowing other classes well enough to tear them to pieces in PvP. To sum it all up I’ve come to like warrior the best, it’s probably one of the most solid and balanced classes in the game but I’ve always wanted to try out a caster class, the best I’ve done was a level 70 Elemental Shaman… Read the rest of this entry »

The day has finally arrived and despite my previous quarrels over not being able to get the game on the 12th in order to log in on midnight all of that didn’t matter as the game finally installed and I logged in on my warrior around 11:00AM. Before the screen even loaded I was already pushing my hotkey to mount up and ride quickly to the portal in Shattrath that leads to Stormwind.
From the mage tower in Stormwind I rode my mechastrider as fast as it could take me to the new port in the northern part of the human city. Arriving at the dock I was greeted by various other players waiting for the boat to arrive as well. The wait almost seemed eternal, the anxiety brewing within me a concoction of sorts with the ingredients of exitement, childhood christmas memories, and the cup of coffee I just chugged to stay awake due to only sleeping a few hours. Within seconds the boat arrived and about 12 players, all level 70, rode aboard on our mounts. Once the ship took sail (bearing in mind it has no sails, fact I found odd) we all looked on to the northern horizon. Read the rest of this entry »

Greetings and welcome to 60FPS’ World of Warcraft Section. Here you’ll find all sorts of nifty facts, pictures, and videos about Blizzard’s dominating MMO giant. Check out the about page to get a general idea of this section’s direction. In order to save my sanity the majority of my posts here will be in English which will allow me to post more often, I will however try to get translations done for those posts that I feel may be of interest to the spanish community as well.
To start off I’ll comment a little about my WoW career so far. I first started playing back in November 2004 when the game first came out in North America so I obviously purchased the North American version. After hopping around on alts and servers for a month or so I finally ended up on Feathermoon, an RP server. RP is short for RolePlay servers that are just like normal servers but have a stricter naming policy and players are encouraged to role play their characters although many people don’t. I played on this server somewhere close to a year where I made many friends and even led a small guild named Kamanima. It was a tiny casual guild which basically summed up only to be a chat for us players to talk to each other and do instances. Besides this server lacking serious end game guilds I wasn’t all too interested in going to the big time 40 man raids and spent most of my time doing PvP and Instances on my level 60 Troll Enhancement Shaman (my first 60).
