The latest PTR build came out a couple days ago and WoWHead updated their talent calculator according to the newest changes. Besides a few icon errors it’s displaying all the talents properly and in the correct tier positions. One notable change to the latest 3.1.0 Patch Notes totally hit me in the face was that they decided to move Master of Ghouls back up to tier 6 instead of 4 (so it’s back to where it was). So all that theorycrafting I was coming up with for a possible 51-2-18 build is gone out the window. Read the rest of this entry »
I know, I know, I’m a horrible blogger! Once again I’ve taken another sabatical from blogging and without any warning either. FAIL! Well once again another week has gone by and the much awaited patch 3.1.0 hasn’t been released yet. In my last post I went over the basics on Death Knight presences and when/how to use them. As some of you may or may not know Death Knight presence talents are being revamped. Currently each talent tree has a 2 point talent which applies an aura that gives affects similar to the Death Knight’s presence to the rest of the group/raid. They’re each a tier 7 talent in their respective talent tree: Blood Aura, Frost Aura, and Unholy Aura. Read the rest of this entry »
So, what’s the deal with Presences? When should I use Blood, Frost, or Unholy?
I’ve been asked this quite a few times so I thought I’d give a shot at clearing it up. Unlike warrior stances, using presences is a lot simpler for two reasons: (1) regardless of the presence you’re in you can use all of your abilities and (2) there is very little need to “presence” dance. So which presences do you use and when? To answer this we have to look at what roles a DK has, DPS, Tanking, and PvP… Read the rest of this entry »
As we all should know, shamans are a hybrid class, and as such are a renaissance class capable of doing a little bit of everything. Powerful healers and damage dealers their only difference from the other 2 hybrid classes (druid and paladin) they can’t tank. The most important thing to keep in mind when alocating your talents is to know exactly what we want to do, whether it be healing (Restoration), melee damage (Enhancement), or mastery over the elements (Elemental); although it is also possible to construct a “hybrid” build which allows us to do a little bit of everything but poorly.
Alright so this week’s video is a bit cliché since it’s what I found on the front page of WarcraftMovies.com but I watched other movies (honest!) and this one really is quite interesting and noteworthy. Ever wondered what the setup and player looked like behind those multiboxing shamans zapping your brains to fizzle-fry with 4 simultaneous Chain Lightnings? Read the rest of this entry »
On the World of Warcraft website, Blizzard announced the release of a new mouse especifically made for WoW. Soon as I saw images of this cursor moving piece of hardware I was immedietly in love, I’ve got to have one! Before I let my nerd rage take over though I took a second to analyze it as an actual mouse and if it’s worth the 89€. Read the rest of this entry »
The boys over at WoWHead.com have recently released a calculator with all the Patch 3.1 changes done so far on the PTR realms. Some of the classes have been changed very little others (such as Death Knights) have had trees rearranged almost completely. Frost has been turned upside-down practically and as I feared the 0/32/39 Dual Wield specc for Death Knights will be gone forever. Paladins lost their Blessing of Kings in protection as it is becoming a base ability and are left with a very naked Tier 1 in their Protection Tree. Read the rest of this entry »
The video for this week is made by another Blood Elf but instead of a Paladin the next most overpowered class, a Death Knight from Tortheldrin-USA. It’s short and has no instructional use to it other than perhaps to show how Blood Specced Death Knights can exploit a talent they have called Hysteria. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s not quite level 80 yet but getting to level 60 was a huge achievement for me. Never have I gotten a priest to such a high level. Thank you heirlooms! At the time I write this I’m actually level 64, racing on as quickly as I can to 68 so I can go to Northrend. Funny, I rushed as much as I could to get to Outland and now that I’m there I don’t want to be anymore. The truth is I never really liked Outland that much, the scenery is too out there for my taste but the quests at least are well thought out and close together unlike the nightmare that is Azeroth.
